Summary

CREEK TECHNOLOGIES is seeking a full time, on-site SC Storage and Enterprise Backup Services SME in support of the National Air & Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), located in Dayton, Ohio (Wright Patt). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of Storage and Enterprise Backup Services to ensure users and business teams receive the support they require. They will work closely with internal and/or client leadership, the PM, and the Network Team Lead, the Network PTA to provide technical oversight, direct accountability for storage and backup performance, and support the planning, implementation, tracking, and successful performance of the team and projects of moderate risk and complexity.

Responsibilities

• Maintain architectural diagrams and document all installations/changes in accordance with NASIC guidance • Provide maintenance, administration, update, configuration, integration, and documentation of NASIC’s Enterprise Storage Area Network • Ensure a monthly preventive maintenance schedule is conducted for non-emergency requirements including servers (used for storage management), storage devices, tape libraries, controllers, and database backup • Install portal devices according to NASIC/SC standards. Update portal tables, access permissions, user accounts, roles, mapping, workspace, and devices. • Ensure defective parts are documented and sent to the vendor for repair • Ensure vendor repairs are received and tested and returned to Government bench stock • Warrantee repairs are installed and tested then the devices are returned to operation service for redistribution to the customers • Document firmware updates, configurations, and portal assignments • Provide corrective and preventative maintenance on all tape libraries and storage sub-systems • Provide installation, maintenance, and administration of all Quantum enterprise tape backup storage systems, Hitachi Data Storage Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems, Hitachi HCP Sun/Oracle NAS systems, Sun/Oracle NAS, and Brocade SAN switches • Document installations, removals, and change requests using the NASIC CCR process; gather technical information in support of the CCR process to include microcode software updates, license software changes, and updates to antivirus applications; submit a government CCR documenting the change and receiving approval prior to completing the modification • Perform LUN, LDEV, and host group administration on Hitachi Storage Appliances • Perform Hitachi Edge, HCP Anywhere, and HCP Node administration • Configure and maintain Hitachi Edge Shares and HCP tenants • Configure and maintain Hitachi Edge and HCP CIFS and NFS access • Perform protocol, zpool, network and disk allocation administration for Oracle ZFS NAS platforms • Perform Netbackup policy, storage units, scheduling administration for UNIX, Windows, and LINUX backup operations • Perform Netbackup data recovery operation from tape and disk backup targets • Perform NAS file system, archive, staging, recycling, releasing, and metadata administration • Migrate data away from the SAM-QFS storage systems • Perform Quantum and Oracle tape library administration • Perform fibre channel switch zoning and port administration • Troubleshoot and manage status of library systems • Replace hardware and update firmware as needed • Upon notification by Government Storage Engineer of installation requirement and hardware delivery date, identify physical install location and power availability, shall run all network and SAN connections, shall unpack and assemble hardware in accordance with Hitachi install procedures, shall connect and configure all SAN and network interfaces, shall configure raid and disk emulation, and shall present storage to hosts • Configure the network settings and change factory passwords • Configure fabric parameters and assign licenses • Established SAN topology, attach inter-switch links (ISL's) and replicate new switch into configuration • Build New Fabric Switch with site configuration, host aliases, zones and connect hosts and ensure all configuration is in accordance with Brocade install procedures • Troubleshoot SAN errors from fabric initiators to tape and disk targets • Ensure storage build configurations, storage assignments, port assignments and software configurations are recorded at the time of work and controlled by SC Gov't Storage Engineer • Work NASIC Microsoft System Center Service Manager tickets received • Install/maintain/administer/update Storage Switches, Netbackup/restore solutions, Network attached storage appliances and Archiving platforms • Test and evaluate data backup integrity by performing restore testing • Collaborate with Windows, UNIX and LINUX administrators to configure and troubleshoot server data backups • Collaborate with vendors for troubleshooting storage system/application failures • Provide functional utilization reports as requested • Provide SAN integration services • Execute Brocade SAN switch zoning and Fabric Operating System Upgrades • Conduct SAN switch performance testing/tuning/troubleshooting • Install and troubleshoot SAN cabling • Monitor SAN and other storage devices using Enterprise and/or vendor monitoring tools. • Proactively and reactively perform maintenance, remediate issues, and respond to alarms. • Provision or modify storage resources as requested in customer incident and service requests • Support SAN resources using vendor-specified microcode management tools • Configure storage allotments on Enterprise SAN storage, Network Attached Storage and modular storage • Configure local and remote Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) resources according to in accordance with customer guidelines, monitor daily data transfer status, insure current backup of all critical is complete, resolve hardware and network problems that would clause connectivity issues • Maintain integrity of critical network services (DNS, NIS, LDAP and password synchronization) between Solaris, Linux and Windows • Configure/maintain Quantum I6k and I500 tape libraries, SAM-QFS data archive operations, Automated Cartridge System Library Software Application (ACSLS), and SAM-QFS, ACSLS and SL8500 tape library functional operating integration • Maintain and track user access on all storage assets • Maintain TCP/IP configuration controls and security/update patches on storage platforms • Create/maintain custom ad hoc scripting as required to sustain Enterprise storage services • Install and maintain security/update patches for Storage appliances, Avamar/PowerProtect and Netbackup/restore solutions, Network Attached Storage devices, SAN Switches and Archiving platforms • Install/maintain/administer/update all disaster recovery platforms • Advanced hardware and network installation, maintenance, and monitoring experience on ADIC/Quantum Scalar i2K and i6K tape library units • Knowledge of SAM-QFS, Hitachi Storage Navigator, and Solaris zfs

Qualifications

• IAT II Cert (CCNA Security, CySA+ (aka CSA+), GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Experience

• A minimum of 7 years of related technical experience

Clearance

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance required

Salary Range

Commensurate with education and experience.
