The Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS) has been the nation’s premier provider of Homeland Security education since 2002. CHDS is seeking a qualified individual to serve as an Operations Coordinator in support of a national contract. The primary responsibility of an Operations Coordinator (OC) is to provide a wide range of support to the students and faculty of the CHDS’s master’s degree program. The students travel to Monterey, CA from across the country to attend class and the OC is responsible for coordinating all travel and lodging arrangements. The OC also provides on-site support to the students and faculty while class sessions are conducted. The ideal candidate will work with a team to prioritize, organize, and provide operational and logistic support to the faculty and invited guests of the Center. The candidate should be prepared to communicate effectively and efficiently with a wide-variety individuals from various locations. Attention to detail and organizational skills are a must. A successful candidate will have positive customer service skills with the desire to help and assist others.

• Applicant must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to pass a background check and obtain a Security Clearance. • Possess a current and valid state driver’s license. • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently. • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. • Must be able to lift and carry light loads without encountering any physical limitations.
Undergraduate degree is preferred or an equivalent of education plus experience.
Two or more years of customer service, administrative and/or logistics support. Experience in an academic or executive-level setting a plus.
