Opening: Junior Contract Specialist

Summary

CREEK TECHNOLOGIES is seeking an experienced and energetic Junior Contract Specialist. The position is currently located at Shaw AFB, SC (Sumter, SC). The successful candidate must possess at least 3 years of experience working in direct support of the negotiations, execution, monitoring, and reporting of government contracts as a Contract Specialist, Contract Officer Representative or Contract Officer. A Secret Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Draft, solicit, negotiate, and support the awarding of contracts for architecture/engineering, construction, exhibit design, design fabrication, service and web design contracts to support Smithsonian projects and programs • Generate and/or review government contract solicitation documents such as Request for Proposals, contracts, contract modifications, sole source justifications, source selection memorandums, and other various documents • Review Statement of Work and Independent Government Estimate (IGE) for accuracy and completeness and accurate use of contract laws, regulations, GAO principles and practices • Use practical and functional knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and various federal contract types, (i.e. Firm Fixed Price, Cost Plus, Fixed Fee, Incentive, Time & Material, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity, Task/Delivery Order and Job Order Contracts) • Provide contract administration services such as negotiation and award of contract modifications; issuance of stop-work orders, and issuance of cure notices or show cause letters; approval of progress payments, final payment and contract closeout; termination of contracts for the convenience of the Government or default by the contractor

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance • DAU Certification in Contract Management; or • National Contract Management Association Certification in Contract Management

Education

Associate’s degree preferred.

Experience

At least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management

At least 3-years’ experience in direct support of government contracting functions/requirements with specific education/experience in management and execution of government contracts as a government Contract Specialist/Officer Representative/Officer.

Clearance

Must have an active Secret clearance.

Salary Range

Commensurate with education and experience.
