Opening: Information Security Support Engineer (ISSE)

Summary

Creek Technologies is seeking an Information Security Support Engineer to manage the operations, maintenance, and security of two academic networks located on Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, TX. This position will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for IT and security and as a local liaison between Creek Technologies and the customer. This position will work closely with Creek Technologies HQ IT personnel, HQ information security personnel, and a security liaison in a different location. This position will help with efforts to plan, implement, maintain, secure, and accredit all aspects of the unclassified Bomber Academic Contract Network (BACON). This position will lead efforts to plan, implement, maintain, secure, and accredit all aspects of a local classified network. This position will report directly to the Director of Information Technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide client support and troubleshoot issues with accounts, endpoints, servers, and network devices including response and troubleshooting of system outages. • Assist with planning and lead implementation of changes and upgrades to the networks. • Manage network domains through Active Directory Group Policy. • Assist RMF compliance efforts for one unclassified network. • Lead RMF compliance efforts for one classified network. • Perform vulnerability scanning and remediation actions. • Perform network and endpoint security monitoring and threat remediation. • Maintain asset management inventories. • May need to locally administer workstations, servers, switches, and firewalls. • Serve as an IT and security Subject Matter Expert (SME) and local liaison between the customer and Creek Technologies.

Qualifications

• Certification: CompTIA Security+ ce (or equivalent) • Experience administering Windows 10, Microsoft Server 2019, and Microsoft Hyper-V • Experience with LAN, switching, and routing • Experience administering Active Directory • Experience with network vulnerability scanners • Experience with network and endpoint security monitoring tools • Experience administering or securing classified information systems • Experience with the Risk Management Framework and NIST SP 800-53 controls • Experience with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), SCAP Compliance Checker, or Evaluate-STIG

Education

Associate’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree preferred

Salary Range

Commensurate with education and experience.110,000-120,000
