Summary

CREEK TECHNOLOGIES is seeking a full time, on-site GXS Network Engineering SME in support of the National Air & Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), located in Dayton, Ohio (Wright Patt). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of GXS Network Engineering SME to ensure users and business teams receive the support they require. They will work closely with internal and/or client leadership and the PM to provide technical oversight, direct accountability for GXS Network performance, and support the planning, implementation, tracking, and successful performance of the team and projects of moderate risk and complexity.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network issues. •Rack, install, configure, and maintain network infrastructures; including the patches, bug fixes, and optimization of physical and virtual infrastructures •Build, run, and install network cables •Monitor network traffic using Government-provided tracking software, including SolarWinds, Zenoss, and Nagios to ensure proper network function and to adjust network configuration to support changing network demands •Create and deliver an Implementation Plan and Software Transition Plan (for software upgrades), and obtain concurrence with the GTM for updates to hardware and/or software prior to implementing the updates. •Create and deliver an Acceptance Test Plan and Security Test Plan, for each update as applicable •Work closely with Government staff in the engineering of mission critical networks •Provide state-of-the-art techniques for designing, developing, modifying and troubleshooting highly complex networks. •Develop, innovative, and implement complex network solutions, ensuring that upgrades and changes comply with established guidelines and processes •Further develop and execute network solutions incorporating redundancy and high availability •Coordinate maintenance, monitoring and installation of multiple WAN/LAN environments encompassing multiple specializations, platforms and technologies •Assist with research and implementation of enterprise system-wide network solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives •Support network traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization efforts to ensure attainment of performance and availability objectives •Formulate network concepts and architecture, specify requirements and develop implementation approaches •Identify and resolve complex network interface issues. •Be the subject matter expert on emerging network technologies •Direct the development of network specifications and technical documentation. •Provide functional network utilization reports as requested. •Provide network integration services •Maintain architectural diagrams and shall document all installations/changes in accordance with NASIC guidance. •Provide weekly functional area reports summarizing work accomplished, work planned in next week and important issues occurring during the week (CDRL A001). •Maintain, administer, and update CentOS, products, applications and services; build, maintain, and administer CentOS patch and OS deployment services; develop change plans for CentOS modifications; and provide information assurance, server, virtualization and storage support •Maintain, administer, and update third party Linux and Unix applications •Provide compliance with USAF/DIA directives, including Information Assurance, Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs); Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG’s); and Intelligence Community Vulnerability Alerts (ICVAs) •Provide support for CentOS and third party application workstation products and shall create and maintain custom ad hoc scripting and TCP/IP configuration controls, to include security and update patches. All scripting utilized in performance/support of system administrator duties will contain a purpose/function statement and be considered property of the US Government •Maintain Domain Name Service administration and configuration integrated with Windows and Unix operating systems •Maintain and update network information system (NIS) maps, custom Samba file and print services, and programming and scripting languages and libraries •Participate and represent responsibilities covered in the NASIC/SC Technical Board of Strategy to include initiation of architecture changes, solution proposal, and customer requirements management •Maintain/administer/update Linux/Unix products, applications and services •Build/maintain/administer license servers •Provide support for operating system and third party application Server and Workstation products •Create/maintain custom ad hoc scripting •Maintain/update Kickstart server/workstation builds •Provide Network File System (NFS) support •Maintain/update custom Samba services •Maintain/update programming/scripting languages and libraries •Maintain/update/administer eXmeritus when appropriate •Install and maintain security/update patches for Linux and Solaris •Develop configuration management tools including but not limited to Root_disk_dump, Useradd, and Qservers •Write custom Oracle queries/reports and/or developing Perl modules to obtain additional required data from workstations/servers •Write API Satellite Perl scripts for queries management of server and clients and API scripts to manage Red Hat Satellite server and its clients •Develop scripts to maintain integrity of critical network services (DNS, NIS, LDAP, VAS password synchronization) between Solaris, Linux, and Windows •Perform functionality testing before application installation and regression testing post-install and generating before-after reporting •Develop new and maintain existing ad hoc customer-scripting supporting administrative requirements •Develop local processes and scripts to ensure consistent updates, along with on-linked hourly/daily/monthly backups of critical source files. •Configure, maintain, update, and monitor samba services wherever customer Windows clients need access to enterprise class Hitachi SAN and NAS storage •Administer Windows domain accounts and groups while keeping each integrated with Linux accounts and groups •Ensure proper client versions are being used and configurations are kept complaint •Provide complete network modeling detailing all network equipment, servers and workstations •Ensure all SAM-QFS file systems are active and able to stage files •Perform HSM database checks and tape library maintenance •Provide Useradd application support •Perform firmware upgrades •Provide pre/post-maintenance test scriptage (qservers) •Analyze system faults, troubleshoot, and run diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems •Troubleshoot system performance problems and make system modifications to accommodate hardware upgrades •Provide Solaris system and network configuration and administration •Provide Sendmail and Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) support •Document installations, removals, and change requests using the NASIC CCR process; gather technical information in support of the CCR process to include microcode software updates, license software changes, and updates to antivirus applications; submit a government CCR documenting the change and receiving approval prior to completing the modification

Qualifications

• Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II • IAT II Cert (CCNA Security, CySA+ (aka CSA+), GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP) •CCNP or equivalent

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Experience

• Minimum seven years of related technical experience

Clearance

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance required

Salary Range

Commensurate with education and experience.
