CREEK TECHNOLOGIES is seeking a full-time, on-site Agile Coach in support of the GDIT, located in Windsor Mill, Maryland. The successful candidate will manage and lead the HIGLAS Agile transformation journey across multiple and matrixed teams on the program and focus on driving execution excellence, continuous improvements, mentoring, and training.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Collaborate with program leadership to develop an agile transformation roadmap that continues to evolve and strengthen agile adoption and integration on the program. • Lead assessment of current development and operations processes to identify the DevOps value stream and work with operations teams to integrate them into agile cadences. • Facilitates the Agile governance cadence, provides Agile SME guidance, provides training, facilitates backlog Agile maturation refinement and roadmap development. • Act as an organizational change leader, continually focusing on what CAN be done and helping long-standing organizations to uncover opportunities for improvement through the adoption of DevOps and SAFe agile frameworks. • Teach, lead, and mentor scrum masters and cross-functional teams to build, sustain, and strengthen Agile values, SAFe and scrum concepts and practices, providing them the necessary tools and guidance to successfully implement across high-impact programs throughout the enterprise. • Identify and coach Agile evangelists across the organization who can act as informal mentors/peers and continue increasing the maturity across the organization. • Coach teams in scrum tasks (e.g., sprint planning, user story mapping, estimations, daily stand-ups, demos, retrospective discussions, etc.). • Evaluate current Agile project metrics, identify opportunities for improvement and ensure metrics are being tracked and monitored for indications of potential problem areas, and assist teams in identifying and implementing solutions to address the problems. • Identify need and provide structured and ad-hoc training in Agile principles and practices including Lean Agile, SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, Product Ownership, and Program Management. • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify specific areas of training and coaching. • Lead, coach and manage a team of Scrum Masters to drive continuous improvement mentality that creates multiple high-performing Agile development teams. • Prepare a variety of communication artifacts related to the Agile practice, progress and plans. • Develop and deliver presentations to various levels of stakeholders, and facilitate working sessions to identify resolutions to impediments to continuous Agile improvement. • Effectively leverage and combine different industry standard scaling concepts to specific business problems in a manner that best supports Scaled Agile values and principles. • Provide strategic thought leadership during engagements on approaches to overcome impediments to accelerated delivery; skillfully facilitate conflict resolution with and between teams. • Foster strong spirit of communication and collaboration between teams to align program goals, deliver final products, and ensure leadership transparency to impediments and progress. • Ensure appropriate risk management and control practices are integrated into the lifecycle of Agile initiatives. • Build and maintain relationships with lines of business, team members, management, key stakeholders and/or external contacts (e.g., vendors, etc.). • Continuously identify opportunities for improvement for implementing Agile tools and best practices. • Lead Agile teams through product framing and discovery, including defining business KPIs, product vision, user story mapping, and other framing activities. • Drive consistent Agile practices and strategy across the organization to enhance business value delivery and responsiveness to organization and marketplace opportunities. • Ensure Agile concepts and principles are adhered to, and also seen as the voice of reason and authority. • Perform other duties as assigned.
• SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) Certification. • Expert knowledge of DevOps framework, including Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), etc. • Expert knowledge of project lifecycles and development methodologies. • Significant experience building and coaching development teams with emphasis on Automated Testing, Test Driven Development (TDD) and/or Behavior Driven Development (BDD), Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in Agile Leadership or Coaching. • Experience in successful Agile transformation at scale in large enterprise organizations. • Experience in coaching and developing people and teams, influencing behavior change and establishing sustainability through cultural change. • Experience working with senior executives and proven ability to effectively communicate and influence decisions critical to adoption and implementation of Agile practice. • Experience working in an Agile environment (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, DevOps, etc.), successfully coaching and transitioning teams, programs, and portfolios. • Significant experience building and coaching development teams with emphasis on Automated Testing, Test Driven Development (TDD) and/or Behavior Driven Development (BDD), Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. • Experience with different agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, XP, SAFe, etc.). • Experience in coaching and guiding teams in understanding scaled agile principles and practices. • Experience in leading Agile training sessions, workshops, ways of working, planning sessions and creating required documentation and materials. • Experience in delivering presentations to virtual and in person teams.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
