Creek Technologies is seeking a full time, on-site Accounting and Administrative Specialist in support of management team at The Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS). CHDS has been the nation’s premier provider of Homeland Security education since 2002. Housed within CHDS, the in-residence Executive Education Program offers customized homeland security graduate-level courses for senior-level government and private sector officials on the campus of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. This position will report directly to the Program Manager. They will be responsible for supporting the monthly invoicing process, assisting in administrative duties, reviewing expense reports, and completing other accounting and administrative tasks. A successful candidate for this role will have 1) excellent organization and communication skills, 2) a self-starter mindset, and 3) a strong command of Microsoft Excel.


• Track and process 1099/sub consultant labor hours for invoicing • Assist in the review and processing of the monthly invoice • Help facilitate monthly credit card reconciliation • Review expense reports on a weekly basis • Assist in employee onboarding • Help coordinate program shipping • Support management team with various tasks as necessary • Other duties and responsibilities as required


• Applicant must be a US citizen with the ability to pass a background check • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel required • Exceptional organizational, communication, and time management skills required • Familiarity with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) desired • General understanding of how relational databases work desired • Possess a current and valid state driver’s license


BS/BA degree required (or near term graduation). Subject of study in business, finance, economics, or accounting preferred.


Experience/knowledge with US Government DoD contracting desired Experience supporting senior-level executives and government staff desired Experience supporting graduate-level education desired


Must be able to acquire and maintain a Security Clearance
